Meet our Yarn Bases
Our Favourite Yarn Bases
I have a number of suppliers who source yarn from sustainable, ethical producers around the world. I have hundreds of options to choose from so I will often trial different blends, but have a few favourites that I tend to keep in stock all the time.
The core range:

Dolly Tweed
Superwash and non-superwash merino plied together which gives a unique tweedy stripe when dyed. Available in 100g skeins of 4ply weight with DK available as a special order item. The superwash yarn takes the dye more intensely, giving a striped quality to the yarn which works up into a flecked or tweed look fabric.

Dolly Organic
Certified organic pure merino, produced to the highest welfare standards, available in 100g skeins of DK and Aran weights. This wool has not been superwash treated so it can be felted. It does not have the same smoothness of superwash, but it's one of my favourites for sweaters and cardigans, particularly good for textured stitches and cables.

Luxor
Light and warm, but hardwearing too. Luxor is 50% Baby Alpaca 25% Silk, 25% Linen, available in 100g skeins of 4 ply. This is our go to for lightweight summer tops, or lacy shawls. The linen doesn't pick up the dye, so the result is a subtle heathered look to the colours. Perfect for anyone allergic to wool.

If you don't see the yarn in the thickness or blend you are looking for, remember we can do special orders - get in touch for a chat, I'd love to help out!
